Do you find your child has BIG behaviours and emotional reactions that you don’t quite know how to support or find overwhelming?
CuedIn understands behaviour and emotions from the level of the nervous system and how to best target strategies to help with regulating this through their relationship with you.
By utilising tools to support co-regulation, emotional literacy and approaches like PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, empathy) Emma will help you to gain the skills to support your child with their behaviours and emotion regulation.
Being a parent can be demanding and it’s very easy for your own needs to take a back seat whilst focusing on your whānau. This can lead to feeling overwhelmed and developing chronic stress or burnout.
CuedIn understands the importance of prioritising parents’ emotional well-being for the benefit of the whole family, whilst finding a balance with everyone else’s needs along the way.
Emma will use her understanding of the nervous system and tools from acceptance and commitment therapy to support you, and your whole family, to move from surviving to thriving.
It can be challenging when there isn’t a cohesive approach between parents/caregivers or if you’re trying to figure out co-parenting following separation with your partner.
CuedIn has a high level of skill in working with difficult family dynamics whilst keeping children’s needs at the centre. Emma will sensitively support you to control the controllables and build in strategies that will align with your values.
When it comes to parenting, we tend to be surrounded by different views and opinions, whether we’ve asked for them or not… and it can get overwhelming trying to navigate all of the information – especially as guidance is updated regularly.
CuedIn is experienced in working within areas like child development, infant mental health and attuned care. Emma knows the importance of those first 1000 days, and keeps afloat of new and emerging research.
CuedIn can support you to understand what to expect to help put your mind at ease or help you understand how you can use current guidance to your advantage. Let Emma do the legwork so you can focus on what’s important to you.
It can be difficult navigating the various services and professionals involved with your children, especially if the situation is already stressful. Emma has extensive experience working alongside various services, with good knowledge of how organisations and systems work.
If you’re finding things difficult to navigate or struggling to get your voice heard, Emma can support your individual needs/journey.
They say we don’t go through life unscathed, with many of us experiencing overwhelming events throughout our lifespan.
Our brains have a natural way of processing and storing these events. But sometimes this process can become overloaded and disrupted, leaving these memories “stuck,” along with all the intense emotions, negative beliefs, and physical sensations associated with them. Rather than becoming past events we can calmly recall at will, these intense thoughts, feelings, and sensations can easily be triggered as we go about our daily lives, significantly impacting our well-being.
The good news is that we have an innate ability to heal, much like recovering from a physical injury. Therapies exist that can aid this process of ‘unlocking’ these stuck memories, allowing them to be reprocessed and releasing their hold on you.
So if you are still experiencing symptoms from an overwhelming or traumatic event, you may benefit from…
Trauma therapy
Emma uses two approaches for trauma support:
These therapies are unique in that they require minimal disclosure about your experiences, supporting you to reprocess and rebuild following various traumatic events.
You can find out more about what is involved with these therapy sessions here.
Perinatal trauma
For those struggling with aspects of conception, pregnancy, or birth experiences, the following services may be beneficial:
Offering you a safe and validating space to discuss your birth experiences.
