CuedIn was developed by me, Emma Beaven, whilst taking a career break following the birth of my first child. Having my son highlighted some gaps within the current support available which reignited my passion for working with individuals and families.
I’m a registered Social Worker with extensive experience working with children, adults, families and professionals across New Zealand, Guernsey & the UK.
Over this time I’ve developed a broad knowledge base and skillset which enables me to tailor support to each individual and family.
One of my key aims is to work with individuals and families around prevention and early intervention, alongside helping to bridge the gap between research and practice.
My mahi involves keeping up to date with current evidence and best practice across multiple fields, including attachment, trauma, neuroscience, neurobiology, child development, psychology, social work, and organisational theory.
When I’m not spending time with my family, you can often find me out enjoying nature, exercising or knitting beanies!
I have a keen passion for what is known about the long-term, positive outcomes when we invest in people & families
I was born in Guernsey and live here with my husband and three beautiful daughters. I initially studied Psychology at University and then went on to study Social Work. I practised as a Family Support worker and then as a Social Worker for Children and Families for 12 years here in Guernsey before taking a career break and having my third baby. Taking this career break enabled me to focus fully on my three girls.
I now feel ready to continue my passion for supporting families with the additional knowledge and experience of parenting my own children. Having three children has certainly opened my eyes to the fact that every child is different, and I feel privileged to be on this journey with them.
